Just got back from vacation and wanted to share our correspondence from next Saturday’s Tournament Organizers:
Basic Information: The Dublin Robotics FLL District will host 32 teams at this qualifying tournament. Approximately 38% of teams attending this event will advance to the Ohio FLL State Championship. Champion’s Award criteria are used for advancement.
NOTE: Our first tournament had 5 teams advance out of 16 or 31% advancing.
If we advance, the State FLL Tournament for Ohio will be held in Dayton, OH on Feb 7 & 8. My guess is that each team will be selected to compete on one of these days because there will be too many teams to fit into one day.
Schedule for Saturday, January 10th Dublin Tournament:
8:30 Coach’s Meeting
9:40 TableD Robot Practice Round
10:15 Project2 Room Judging
10:30 CoreValues2 Room Judging
10:45 Robot2 Room Judging
11:30 Opening Ceremony
1:05 TableC Robot Round 1
2:40 TableA Robot Round 2
4:10 TableB Robot Round 3
5:15 Closing Ceremony

Your Tournament Directors
Hello coaches! Congratulations to your teams for the hard work they put into their seasons so far and for earning a spot at one of Ohio’s 2nd level qualifying district tournaments!
I want to clarify an expectation from FIRST for all FLL teams. Teams are required this season to have all members register as Youth Team Members in TIMS. At the regional level this season, we were lenient and allowed teams who had not met this requirement to use paper consent and release forms for the students on their team. At the district level, we are expecting that all teams meet this requirement. Looking at the rosters for districts, about 60% of the advancing teams have already met this expectation. For those of you who haven’t, here’s a link to FIRST’s webpage regarding youth team member registration: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/team-member-registration-process-overview.
Once this is completed for your team, you will simply print a roster from TIMS and bring it to your district tournament with you. You will not need to have parents complete consent and release forms for FIRST. (It is possible that a venue may require you to complete a consent and release form).
One more thing, I know many of you are watching our website for results to post and for tournament specific information to post. We are having some trouble with our servers here at our office. I will upload all of these items once this has resolved. Thanks for your patience.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season! See you soon!
